Namib Desert Lodge

Namib Desert Lodge lies at the foot of ancient fossilised dunes surrounded by a sea of expansive red sand in the world-renowned Sossusvlei region. The views are breathtakingly-beautiful and the lodge itself is a warm, relaxed destination. Located within the Sossusvlei region and a scenic 1-hour drive from the Sesriem Canyon, Namib Desert Lodge is a popular place to stay to explore the highlights of the Namib Desert.
Features include a cosy restaurant and bar, two swimming pools and a large wooden deck for glorious relaxing days and starlit evening dinners. The spacious ensuite and air-conditioned wooden bungalows have beds on wheels which you can wheel outside if you fancy sleeping under the stars. As a special treat, you can spend a night camping in the desert at Dune Star Camp.

The Desert Grace

Part of the Gondwana Collection, The Desert Grace is a gorgeous new safari lodge in Namibia that promises guests the ultimate elegant and luxurious experience in the heart of the Sossusvlei region. Imbued with a gentle touch of rose quart and stylish luxurious touches, it’s a beautiful diamond in the midst of the expansive Namib Desert.
The stylishly-decorated ensuite bungalows are fully-equipped for luxurious comfort and convenience, including a private wooden deck with its own plunge pool and outdoor shower. Sink into deep comfy chairs and enjoy views of the shimmering dunes and a night sky that glistens with stars.
Guests are collected in Windhoek. Depart at 14h00 for a scenic drive to your accommodation; both located 35 kilometres south of Solitaire. The journey takes you to the Namib-Naukluft National Park via the spectacular Spreetshoogte Pass; one of Namibia’s steepest and most scenic mountain passes.
Stopover at a small settlement in Solitaire for refreshments and snacks (your own cost). Continue to the Sossusvlei region, enjoying the tranquil desert ambience as the sun is setting.

After a hearty breakfast, it’s time to explore the wonders of the magical Sossusvlei. This includes climbing Big Daddy which is the highest sand dune in the world. The view from the top is spectacular and worth the effort of the fairly steep climb.
You’ll also visit the forest of ancient camelthorn trees found in the world-renowned Dead Vlei. They are probably the most photographed features in Sossusvlei. Your journey continues to the rugged Sesriem Canyon, finishing with a glorious sunset drive through the silent desert back to your lodge.

Wake up to a gorgeous desert morning and enjoy a delicious breakfast. Depart for Windhoek mid-morning, travelling via the Remhoogte Pass. It’s not as steep as the Spreetshoogte Pass but just as striking. Arrive in Windhoek at approximately 12h30.
Scheduled flights departing Windhoek should be booked leaving late afternoon in case of an unplanned delay
on the return trip.
