You will be able to interact with elephants, canoe through the Wilderness National Park, can bungee jump from the world’s highest bridge, explore the enchanting Tsitsikamma forest, and go on a 4×4 safari in search of the Big Five.

Children under the age of eight are not permitted on these scheduled group tours, and children between the ages of eight and seventeen must be accompanied by a paying adult. Children under the age of 18 are not permitted to stay in shared dorm rooms and must reserve private accommodations.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Cape Town – Oudtshoorn

Travel time ± 6hr / ±450km

Start your day with a pickup from your Cape Town CBD or Stellenbosch accommodation between 6:00 and 8:00 a.m. and travel along Route 62, the world’s longest wine route.

Enjoy the breath-taking views of mountains, valleys, vineyards, and orchards, and stop at a farm stall to sample some local delicacies before arriving in Oudtshoorn, the world’s ostrich capital and the gateway to the incredible Cango Caves.

Explore the Cango Caves, an underground network of limestone chambers with incredible formations and ancient paintings. Choose between the Heritage Tour, which is a leisurely walk through the main chambers with great acoustics and insights from your guide, and the Adventure Tour, which is a more difficult route that involves crawling and squeezing through narrow passages.

Stay in Oudtshoorn for the night. You have the option of going to town for a restaurant meal or participating in an optional outdoor braai (similar to a barbeque) – subject to availability – where you can try local specialties like ostrich kebabs, ‘boerewors’ sausage, ‘potbrood’ bread and salad.

You will stay in one of the newly styled rooms of the quaint Victorian Oakdene Guest House in the heart of Oudtshoorn, or similar accommodation, depending on availability.

Day 2: Oudtshoorn – Sedgefield

Travel time ± 3hr / ±350km

In the early morning, you can join an optional Elephant Observation Nature Bush Walk (at your own expense) to follow and observe three orphaned elephants rescued from poachers in their natural habitat.

Later, you will take a relaxing canoe ride along Wilderness’ reed-lined riverbanks, observing the variety of birds in the area.

Bloukrans Bridge is the world’s highest commercial bridge bungy jump, where you can plunge 216 metres down with nothing but an elastic cord. If you do not want to do the bungy jump, you can take a leisurely walk near the bridge or watch the jumpers from the bridge.

Spend the evening in Sedgefield, where you can eat at one of the town’s restaurants.

You will overnight at an en suite room at PiliPili Beach Cabanas or similar accommodation, depending on availability.

Day 3: Sedgefield – Cape Town

Travel time ± 6hr / ±450km

Experience the thrill of a malaria-free 4×4 safari in a malaria-free private game reserve, where you can see giraffe, white rhino, kudu, lion, elephant, zebra, wildebeest, and other animals. An experienced game ranger can accompany you on the safari as well as on a short 5 minute bush walk where you can get closer to nature and learn about the wildlife, plants, and tracks.

As you return to Cape Town, take in the scenic drive along the Garden Route. You will reach your destination between 17:00 and 21:00 depending on traffic and drop-off address.
