Guests enjoy daily game drives in the 75 000-hectare which is home to the Big 5 as well as a strong population of wild dog. A special feature at Madikwe Bush Lodge is a unique underground hide that gets you up close to wildlife sightings at the busy waterhole in front of the lodge. A massive lawn and sparkling swimming pool provide hours of entertainment for the whole family.

Madikwe Bush Lodge is an old farmhouse that has been transformed into a 4-star safari lodge. It’s located in a malaria-free region on a private game reserve in the north-western corner of South Africa. The reserve is home to the Big 5 and a high concentration of antelope and plains games. Numbers of visitors and safari vehicles are restricted so you’re guaranteed an exclusive safari experience.
Madikwe Bush Lodge may be a luxury safari destination but it’ll feel like home after a short while. The staff are warm and welcoming and the facilities are comfortable and homely. Take off your shoes and kick a ball on the large lawn and enjoy a refreshing swim in a fabulous rock pool, or settle into a comfy couch in a cozy corner of the lounge to read a good book.
Children of all ages are welcome at Madikwe Bush House. However, children 6 years and younger are not permitted on the open safari vehicles for daily game drives.
Guests are picked up early in Johannesburg and driven to Madikwe Game Reserve. It’s approximately 4.5 hours to the game reserve and we arrive at Madikwe Bush House late morning. Settle into your luxury suite; relax and freshen up before it’s time to depart for the late-afternoon game drive. Game drives are in an open safari vehicle with a professional ranger. Return to the lodge after an exciting night drive and enjoy a starlit dinner at the outdoor boma or in lodge dining room.
Overnight at Madikwe Bush House in Madikwe Private Game Reserve.

Wake up early for hot beverages and then depart for a 3-hour sunrise game drive. Return to the lodge for breakfast and spend the rest of the day relaxing on the wooden deck or in your airconditioned suite. Be ready to depart after High Tea for the late-afternoon game drive and return for dinner well after dark.

Wake up early for hot beverages and then depart for your last game drive in Madikwe. Return for a hearty breakfast; pack up and be ready to leave mid-morning for a private transfer back to Johannesburg. You’ll be dropped off at your accommodation in Johannesburg at approximately 17h00.
