Before the drive back to Johannesburg, you have the option of a game drive in a closed tour vehicle in Pilanesberg Game Reserve or spending a few fun hours at Sun City.

Pilanesberg Private Lodge is an intimate safari retreat nestled at the foothills of the Pilanesberg alkaline ring complex in the beautiful Black Rhino Private Game Reserve. The private reserve has been incorporated into the Pilanesberg Game Reserve and the Black Rhino safari operators have unrestricted access to its public roads. The protected wilderness region is located in a malaria-free region and less than 3 hours’ drive from Johannesburg.
Guests stay in cosy chalets that are connected by walkways and bridges to a gorgeous communal area. Unique features like rock baths and hand basins give the chalets an earthy feel, and deluxe extra-length King-size beds with crisp linen and elegant décor makes it a luxurious experience. Each chalet has its own private patio and outdoor shower, and a panoramic view of the beautiful bushveld surrounds.
Daily game drives are in an open safari vehicle with a professional ranger. In between, enjoy glorious hours relaxing around the pool at the lodge or in your suite, and stunning starlit evenings dining around the firepit at the outdoor boma on warm evenings.

Guests are picked up early in Johannesburg and driven to Black Rhino Private Game Reserve in Greater Pilanesberg. Arrive at Pilanesberg Private Lodge mid-day after exploring the game reserve for a few hours. Have a light lunch and relax before it’s time to depart for a late-afternoon game drive in the reserve. Game drives are in an open safari vehicle with a professional ranger. Return to the lodge as the sun is setting and enjoy a starlit dinner at the outdoor boma.

Wake up early for hot beverages and then depart for a 3-hour sunrise game drive in the Pilanesberg Game Reserve. Return for a hearty breakfast; pack up and be ready for collection between 11:00 – 11:30am for a closed vehicle (Minivan) game drive in the reserve . Depart mid-afternoon between 15:00 – 15:15 for the return journey to Johannesburg.
