Umkumbe Safari Lodge is located on the banks of the Sand River in the world-renowned Sabi Sand Game Reserve. You may see the “big five” in one of the nicest settings in all of Southern Africa if you travel to Umkumbe.
Because it is run by its owners, your stay will be genuine, homey, and authentically South African. The seasonal Sand River, visible from most of the ten chalets and rooms, is home to a variety of wildlife, including hippos, buffalo, antelope, and elephants. You will be picked up in Johannesburg and driven east along the N4 motorway through the Gauteng and Mpumalanga Highvelds, down the escarpment, and into the scenic Lowveld to the reserve within the Greater Kruger National Park.
The drive will take about six hours, with stops for refreshments. After arriving at the lodge around midday, you will have time to freshen up and relax before embarking on your first afternoon game drive in the reserve in an open safari vehicle.
If the weather permits, a delicious starlit dinner will be served at the lodge.
You spend the night in luxury at Umkumbe Safari Lodge, and your package includes lunch and dinner.
You will be woken up early and have just enough time for a hot beverage and rusks before departing on a 3-hour game drive to see the sun rise in the east.
