Chameleon Hill Lodge is best known for its magnificent setting and dramatic views. The lodge is built on a ridge overlooking Lake Mutanda with the Virunga Mountain Volcanoes in the distance. Chameleon Hill lies nestled in a lush valley between Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

It’s a magical oasis in the lush and verdant highlands that are usually cloaked in mist in the early mornings. The design and décor of the Chameleon Hills is unusual; with the rooms and buildings painted in array of colours, making it look like a rainbow on the edge of the escarpment.

Baboon Safari Lodge

The Baboon Safari Lodge is located outside of Queen Elizabeth National Park on the Kyambura escarpment.The magical Rwenzori Mountain form a dramatic background with snow-covered peaks.

Guests stay in ensuite canvas safari tents which have highly-polished mahogany flooring and a large private deck which overlooks a sparkling pool and the lush forest surrounds. The wooden chalet sleeps up to 20 guests, catering for young travellers on a tighter budget.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Kigali

Guests collected at an agreed destination; either Kigali International Airport or a hotel/guest house within the city precinct. Transfer to your hotel in Kigali, capital of Rwanda; ‘meet and greet’ and safari tour briefing.

Overnight at Kigali Serena Hotel. Dinner served in the hotel restaurant.

Day 2: Kigali – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (177 Kilometers)

Early wake up for breakfast. Check out of hotel and depart for a tour of Kigali. Then it’s time to enjoy scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with a stopover for lunch along the way.

Overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Camp or Chameleon Hill. Dinner served in the lodge restaurant.

Day 3: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Wake up early (6h30) for breakfast. Depart for a full morning in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park on an exciting gorilla trekking expedition. Return to your hotel for lunch.

Overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Camp or Chameleon Hill. Dinner served in the lodge restaurant.

Day 4: Bwindi – Queen Elizabeth National Park (155 Kilometers)

Early wake up (7h00) for breakfast. Check out of your hotel and depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park. Stopover for lunch along the way. Enjoy a wonderful safari tour of the national park as you make your way to your hotel.

Overnight at Baboon Safari Resort or Mweya Safari Lodge. Dinner is served in the lodge restaurant.

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Early wake up for breakfast (6h30). Depart for an early morning safari tour of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Return to your lodge for lunch and a rest.

Depart at 14h00 for a 2-hour boat cruise on Kazinga Channel. The Kazinga Channel in Uganda is a wide, 32-kilometre long natural channel that links Lake Edward and Lake George. It’s home to one of the world’s largest concentrations of hippos and numerous Nile crocodiles.

Overnight at Baboon Safari Resort or Mweya Safari Lodge. Dinner is served in the lodge restaurant.

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Kampala (386 Kilometers)

Early wake up (6h00) for breakfast. Check out your hotel and depart for Kampala. Lunch at a viewpointalong the way.

Arrive in Kampala late afternoon; drop off at Entebbe Airport or a hotel/guest house within the city precinct.
