This tour is a fantastic combination of the best of the half-day tour to Cape Point Nature Reserve and the half-day tour of the Cape Winelands. It can be done in reverse, starting in Stellenbosch and ending in Cape Town.
Cape Town is one of the most modern, cosmopolitan cities in Africa and has a rich cultural heritage. The Mother City is renowned for its incredible beauty, idyllic coastlines and famous natural landmarks. This includes Table Mountain, Robben Island and the striking Cape Peninsula. Vibrant coastal towns lie nestled between the magnificent Cape mountains and the glistening Atlantic Ocean.
Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve lies at the southernmost tip of the peninsula where it plunges into the icy Atlantic Ocean. It’s known for it dramatic beauty, rugged cliff and vast plains to lush fynbos (fine bush). It’s also home to the endangered Cape mountain zebra, and array of antelope and marine birdlife.
The Cape Winelands is renowned for its exceptional wines and spectacular heritage buildings and gardens. The world-famous wine route stretches from the historical Constantia winelands through wine regions such as Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek and ends in the Little Karoo.
Stellenbosch produces some of the best wines in the world. You’ll find the finest selection of varietals including Chenin Blanc, Shiraz, Pinotage and signature sparkling wine and brandy. Stellenbosch is also a student town and home to one of the most prominent universities in Africa.
Cape Town City Bowl and Atlantic Seaboard
The day starts with a tour of Cape Town City Bowl and continues past the V&A Waterfront to the main suburbs of the Atlantic Seaboard. This includes Green Point, Sea Point, Clifton and Camps Bay. We travel past the Blue Flag beaches along a gorgeous scenic route with the glistening Atlantic Ocean on your right and the towering Twelve Apostle mountains on your left.
Hout Bay, Noordhoek and Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve
We make our way through the fishing village of Hout Bay, over the spectacular Chapman’s Peak Drive and into the quaint coastal town of Noordhoek. The scenic peninsula drive takes us to the magnificent Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve where we get out, stretch our legs and explore a bit of the reserve.
False Bay highlights (Simons Town, Boulders Beach, Kalk Bay and Muizenberg)
We end the morning in Simons Town which is a legendary naval town overlooking False Bay. You have the option of visiting the famous penguin colony at Boulders Beach or spending some time strolling down the historic main street of Simons Town and popping into its quaint shops.
