The normal preferred itinerary is as follows:
Travel time ± 6hr / ±500km
Depart Cape region early morning for a scenic and relaxing trip as you make your way to the Wilderness area.
Drive along the N2 national road and take in the views of the ocean and the forests. Botlierskop Private Game Reserve is a malaria-free area where you can go on an open-air 4×4 safari where there's a wide variety of animals, including the Big Five, zebras, wildebeests, lions, elephants, kudu, and white rhinos, you are in luck. During the game drive, a seasoned game ranger will share his insights about the local fauna.
Overnight in the Wilderness/Knysna area.
Visit the lookout point at the Knysna Heads, a pair of spectacular sandstone cliffs that guard the entrance to the lagoon. Take in the panoramic views of the lagoon and the forest and snap some photos for your memories.
Relax in the tranquil coastal towns of Sedgefield or Wilderness and enjoy the slow pace of life. Stroll along the sandy beaches at sunset and savour the serenity of the sea. Treat yourself to a delicious dinner at a rustic beach restaurant or a cosy town eatery.
The adventurous have the options of negotiating the Tsitsikamma Zipline or a Bungy Jump.

Explore the underground wonders of the Cango Caves, a network of limestone chambers with incredible formations and ancient paintings. Choose between the Heritage Tour, a leisurely walk through the main chambers with great acoustics and insights from your guide, or the Adventure Tour, a more challenging route that involves crawling and squeezing through narrow passages.
Today’s optional activity is some elephant observation in nature.
