Itinerary

Day 1 - Afternoon Sunset Drive

You will be picked up from Johannesburg's OR Tambo International Airport and taken to Sekekama Tented Camp, where you will check in to your glamping site at 14:00.

After some time to rest and enjoy the facilities, you will depart at 15:00 for a 3-hour open vehicle afternoon game drive in the Greater Kruger Blue Canyon in an open safari vehicle. You will get the opportunity to see some of the park's most famous wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, zebras, and antelopes, before returning to camp at around 19:00 for a delicious boma fire meal and a peaceful night under the stars.

Day 2 - Full Day Kruger

You will get up early to be ready at 05:30 for a full-day safari into Kruger National Park. Your days may proceed in one of two ways: an early departure for Kruger National Park with a bush breakfast along the route and an earlier return, or having breakfast at the lodge first, departing and returning later.

The exact departure times will be communicated to you the night before as it will be decided according to animal activity at the time to give you the best opportunity for game viewing. Your Kruger Park safari will last 7 to 8 hours, so you should be back at the camp with enough time to relax before dinner by the fire. You will have dinner under the stars every night.

 

Day 3 - Full Day Panorama Route Tour

You'll wake up early to be ready for your unforgettable Panorama Route tour, bringing a change of scenery to your exciting 5 day safari. The Panorama tour will take you along an exhilarating and iconic route where you will witness the following unforgettable landmarks: Berlin Falls, God’s Window, The Pinnacle, 3 Rondawels, Blyde River Canyon.

Your day may proceed in one of two ways: an early departure for the Panorama Route Tour with a breakfast along the route and an earlier return, or having breakfast at the lodge first, departing and returning later. On your return, you will have dinner under the stars

 

Day 4 - Full Day Kruger

The day’s adventure starts early by departing from your camp at 08:30 for the drive to the Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre, where, you'll enjoy a guided tour of approximately 2 hours. Here you’ll learn more about their conservation efforts and get up close with some of South Africa's remarkable wildlife, including lions, leopards, and vultures. After this, you set off to the stunning Blyde River Canyon. Enjoy lunch at one of several restaurants near the Blyde Dam, most offering magnificent views of the canyon.

After lunch, go aboard a boat for a 1.5-hour cruise on the Blyde Dam, enjoying a unique perspective of the canyon, the majestic Three Rondavels, the Kadishi Tufa Waterfall, and some towering cliffs. After the cruise, you’ll be driven back to camp for arrival around 17:00, and dinner beneath the starry sky.

Day 5 - 1 Hour Bush Walk OR Sunrise Drive

After breakfast it is time for good-byes and your return to Johannesburg. You should arrive back at OR Tambo International Airport around 17:00 or 18:00.

Important Information

Guests are collected from Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport between 7:00 and 7:30. Collections from any other Johannesburg hotels or addresses are possible at additional rates.

Guests are dropped off at Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport around 17:00, other hotels or addresses can be arranged at additional rates.

MoAfrika Tours and its service providers provide cost-effective transfers for groups of 2 – 12 people per vehicle; please let us know if you prefer a private tour (additional rates may apply).

Keep in mind that if you plan to fly out of OR Tambo International Airport on the last day of the safari tour, we recommend booking a domestic flight no earlier than 19:30 and an international flight no earlier than 21:00.

Spend your days on game drives, spotting the Big Five and other incredible wildlife. Relax in your beautiful tented camp in the evenings, savouring wonderful meals and stargazing beneath the African sky. Here is your schedule for the 5-day Kruger budget glamping safari:

Day 5 – 1 Hour Bush Walk OR Sunrise Drive

You will have another early morning, this time for an optional 1-hour bushwalk where you might encounter any animals you have not seen yet – and learn more about the bush itself – OR you can choose an optional 3 hour sunrise drive for R1250 per person sharing, in Blue Canyon, Greater Kruger.

You can eat breakfast at your camp before being transported back to Johannesburg and dropped off at the airport, where you should arrive at OR Tambo International Airport between 17:00 and 18:00.
