Hamiltons Tented Camp is an exclusive safari destination located in northern Mpumalanga Province on a 10 000 hectare private concession in the iconic Kruger National Park. It’s named after Colonel Stephenson Hamilton who was instrumental in establishing the national park which is the oldest and largest one in Africa.
Hamiltons Tented Camp captures the romance and elegance of the pioneering safari era with its themed ‘Out of Africa’ décor. Luxurious features include antique hip baths, an outdoor shower, dreamy beds draped in breezy mosquito nets, cooling air-conditioning and warm fires in winter as well as Nomadic African spa treatments which you can have in the comfort of your safari tent. Dining at Hamiltons Tented Camp is a decadent affair, complete with fine crystal wine glasses, pewter silver water jugs and elegantly-dressed butlers waiting attentively on you.
Children 12 years and older are welcome at Hamiltons Tented Camp. Children younger than 12 years may only stay if the safari camp is booked on an exclusive-use basis. Bear in mind, children 6 years and younger are not allowed on the open safari vehicles for daily game drives.

Guests are picked up early in Johannesburg and driven to the Kruger National Park in a luxury tour vehicle. It’s a 5-6 hour drive, with a refreshment stop along the way. Arrive mid-day, enjoy a light lunch and relax around the camp before it’s time to depart for a late-afternoon game drive in the Mluwati Concession. Return to camp as the sun is setting and enjoy a 3-course dinner at the finedining restaurant. Overnight in tented accommodation at Hamilton Tented Camp. Includes: Lunch & dinner
Wake up early for hot beverages and breakfast pastries before departing for the morning Big 5 game drive. Your professional game ranger has the option of staying within Mluwati Concession which may only be traversed by safari lodges operating in the private concession or venturing further for incredible wildlife and bird sightings in the rest of Kruger Park. Return to camp for a late breakfast and an afternoon of relaxation; enjoy a light lunch and High Tea at the main lodge and be ready to depart late afternoon for a game drive. We depart late-morning for the return journey to Johannesburg stopping along the way for snacks and refreshments. Due to the lodges location, we do suggest contacting us and enquiring about flying into the Hoedspruit or Skukuza Airport – 50min flight time.

If you plan to fly out of OR Tambo International Airport on the last day of the safari tour, we suggest reserving a domestic flight that departs no earlier than 19h30 and an international flight that departs no earlier than 21h00.
