Botswana is a landlocked country in southern Africa. It features a flat landscape, with the Kalahari Desert covering around 70% of the country.

As the vegetation begins to die back, animals will congregate around the remaining watering openings. This will facilitate their location. Carnivores are also significantly active during the day than at night, during this time.
