Proudly managed by the MoAfrika Tours team, Ndzhaka Tented Camp operates through a long-term partnership agreement with the local community, who remain the owners of the land and lodge. Under this agreement, we are responsible for operating and developing the camp over the next 40 years, while profits generated through the lodge are shared directly with the community. It is a responsibility we take seriously, and the partnership forms an important part of how the camp operates.
Ndzhaka is situated in the centre of the Manyeleti Game Reserve, one of the unfenced wilderness areas within the Greater Kruger region. Its location allows us to reach both the northern and southern sections of the reserve relatively easily during game drives, something not all lodges in the area are able to offer. Manyeleti spans approximately 23,000 hectares and shares open borders with Sabi Sands, Kruger National Park and Timbavati, allowing wildlife to move freely throughout the region.
Wildlife activity around the camp forms part of everyday life at Ndzhaka. Since the lodge is unfenced, animals regularly move directly through the property, including elephant, lion, leopard and hyena. Guests often experience wildlife sightings from around their tents or communal areas, particularly during the evenings and early mornings.
The camp is currently undergoing a major upgrade and expansion project which will continue over the next 18 months. Our aim is to develop Ndzhaka into a fully fledged 5-star tented safari lodge while still preserving the natural bush atmosphere and character that make the property unique. At the same time, we continue to focus on the personal style of hospitality and hands-on guest experience that we have built across our other lodges, including Ivory Moon Safari Lodge and Sekekama Tented Camp
Ivory Moon Safari Lodge is our own lodge on the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate near Kruger National Park, and we manage it ourselves as part of the MoAfrika Tours group. When we took over the property, we completely redid the lodge and reopened it under the Ivory Moon Safari Lodge name towards the end of 2025.
From the start, we wanted the lodge to feel smaller, calmer and more personal than many of the larger safari properties in the area. We intentionally kept guest numbers low, with space for only eight guests at a time, as we wanted people to experience the bush without crowds, noise or the feeling of being rushed through their stay.
Meals at the lodge are prepared fresh every day and are part of the relaxed atmosphere we try to create throughout the property.
As the owners and managers of Ivory Moon Safari Lodge, we remain hands-on with the daily running of the lodge and stay closely involved in the guest experience from arrival to departure. Our staff are carefully selected and trained around the style of hospitality we believe in, where guests are welcomed properly, looked after personally and made to feel comfortable throughout their stay. Many visitors use the lodge as a base for exploring Kruger National Park, nearby private reserves and other safari experiences around Hoedspruit.
Sekekama Tented Camp is part of our own safari operation at MoAfrika Tours and is fully owned and managed by our team. The camp is situated within the Motlala Conservancy near Hoedspruit, placing guests within easy reach of the Greater Kruger region while still offering a quieter and more private bushveld setting.
We created Sekekama to give travellers a comfortable tented safari experience without losing the authentic atmosphere that draws so many visitors to this part of South Africa. The camp offers en-suite safari tents equipped with proper beds, lighting and cooling fans, allowing guests to enjoy the bush in comfort while still experiencing the sounds and surroundings of the wild at night.
One of the features we are particularly proud of is the camp’s independent power system. Sekekama operates on a full 50kW solar installation supported by a silent backup generator, allowing us to maintain a reliable electricity supply regardless of load shedding or weather conditions. It also allows us to operate in a more environmentally responsible way while maintaining the level of comfort guests expect during their stay.
Wildlife activity around the camp forms an important part of the experience. Guests regularly encounter animals such as hyena, buffalo, nyala, porcupine and occasionally leopard moving through the surrounding bushveld, particularly after sunset and during the early morning hours. Evenings around the fire are often accompanied by the distant calls of hyenas or lions from the surrounding area, creating the type of bush atmosphere many travellers hope to experience when visiting the Kruger region.
Unlike many safari companies that rely entirely on outside transport providers, we own and operate our own shuttle and transfer company through Safarilink SA, which forms part of the wider MoAfrika Tours group. Establishing Safarilink gave us far greater control over the way guests travel between airports, lodges and safari destinations, while also allowing us to manage the full experience ourselves instead of outsourcing such an important part of the journey.
Today, Safarilink SA runs daily return shuttle services between Johannesburg, Hoedspruit and Hazyview, connecting travellers with lodges and safari destinations throughout the Greater Kruger region. We also personally manage private airport transfers from Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA) and Hoedspruit Airport (HDS) directly to lodges, reserves and accommodation establishments across the area.
Over time, Safarilink has expanded well beyond the Kruger region and now handles transfers to destinations including Madikwe, Pilanesberg and Welgevonden, as well as other safari areas throughout South Africa. Having our own transport company operating alongside our safari and lodge division allows us to coordinate travel, communication and guest support far more effectively under one management structure.
We have also built our own dedicated Safarilink SA travel consultant team to assist guests with safari planning, transport arrangements and package bookings. The team works directly with travellers to put together itineraries suited to different budgets, travel styles and safari expectations, whether guests are looking for a shorter affordable getaway or a more exclusive luxury safari experience.
Our drivers form part of the Safarilink family and play an important role in the overall guest experience. Their knowledge of safari routes, lodge regions and long-distance travel throughout South Africa helps ensure that the safari experience begins long before guests arrive at their destination.
Owned and managed by MoAfrika Tours, Bona Tau Tours and Safaris focuses on guided travel through the Lowveld and Greater Kruger region, with much of its work centred around custom safari itineraries instead of standard fixed packages.
The company offers a mix of wildlife, nature and regional travel experiences linked to some of Mpumalanga’s best-known tourism areas. Guests can structure trips around their own interests, whether that includes wildlife viewing in Kruger National Park, scenic travel along the Panorama Route or visits to conservation and rehabilitation centres within the Lowveld.
The company caters for individuals, families, small groups and educational travel groups wanting to explore the bushveld through guided outdoor activities and regional safari travel. Many of the tours operate within the wider Greater Kruger and Panorama Route network, including areas around Hoedspruit and the Blyde River Canyon region.
Tlou Tented Safari Camp is one of the safari properties we own and manage at MoAfrika Tours. Set on Bagatla tribal land in Saulspoort in the North West Province, the camp gives travellers a more affordable bushveld base close to Pilanesberg National Park without the formality of a large safari lodge.
The camp is located just 4km from Pilanesberg National Park, a malaria-free reserve known for the Big Five, varied landscapes and strong wildlife appeal. This makes Tlou a practical option for guests who want to explore Pilanesberg while staying in a quieter camp environment nearby.
Tlou takes its name from the Tswana word for elephant, which is linked on the camp’s website to Tswana stories of the elephant as a wise guardian. That cultural connection is part of the identity of the camp, together with its position on Bagatla tribal land and its communal boma, where guests can gather around the fire in the evenings.
The camp offers comfortable en-suite tented accommodation and a simple bushveld setting on a 3,000m² plot. Dinner and breakfast are included, and facilities include limited WiFi, a communal boma and access to ranger-led nature walks. The camp is also suited to travellers who may want time in the bush without having every part of their stay built around safari activities.
Dumela Tented Camp forms part of the lodge portfolio we own and manage ourselves at MoAfrika Tours. Situated in the Guernsey Nature Reserve near Hoedspruit, the camp is positioned about 20 minutes from Kruger National Park and approximately 23km from Hoedspruit Airport, making it a practical safari base within the Greater Kruger region.
The camp consists of seven en-suite luxury tents together with four chalets, offering guests a smaller and more relaxed bush stay compared to many larger safari properties. Accommodation includes air conditioning, WiFi, private bathrooms and swimming facilities, while the overall atmosphere remains centred around the natural bushveld surroundings that draw travellers to this part of Limpopo.
Dumela was developed as a comfortable glamping-style safari camp where guests can enjoy both the convenience of nearby safari attractions and the quieter pace of the reserve environment itself. Leopard, hyena and buffalo sightings are regularly associated with the surrounding area, adding to the overall safari atmosphere guests experience during their stay. The camp’s setting within the reserve also allows visitors to unwind after game drives without feeling disconnected from the bush.
Keeping accommodation, safari activities and transport connected under the MoAfrika Tours group helps us maintain more consistent standards while giving guests a smoother and more coordinated safari experience from arrival through to departure.
Dumela Tented Camp has become an important part of our safari offering by providing travellers with a comfortable and well-positioned bush base close to Kruger National Park while still maintaining the more relaxed atmosphere many guests specifically look for when visiting the Hoedspruit region.
