Why book a Kruger Park transfer with MoAfrika Tours?

Save money

If you’re staying at a luxury lodge on a private concession in Kruger Park or one of the private game reserves in Greater Kruger, you don’t need a car. The luxury lodges on private game reserves don’t allow self-drive safari tours so your car will be left sitting in the hot sun in the parking lot. It’s a waste of money if you’ve rented it for the week.

Save time

Our driver is waiting for you as you walk through the airport terminal, if you’re coming from overseas. You don’t waste precious time finding the car rental agency and picking up a rented car. Jump into our Kruger Park transfer vehicle which is waiting outside the airport terminal building and your safari holiday starts immediately.

Friendly meet-and-greet

It’s lovely seeing a friendly face waiting for you in the airport terminal after a long-haul flight. OR Tambo International Airport is massive, so enjoy the convenience of our driver taking your luggage off your hands and heading straight for the transfer vehicle. No stress, no hassle.

Door-to-door service

MoAfrika Tours collects and drops off clients at their hotel or home in Johannesburg and Pretoria as well as OR Tambo International Airport. Kruger Park transfers can be arranged for clients staying in outlying suburbs or towns but it may incur an additional cost.

Safety comes first

MoAfrika Tours has been in business since 2000 and specializes in Kruger Park safari tours. That means we’ve been taking visitors to the region for over 20 years. Kruger Park transfer destinations

Our Kruger Park transfers take you to the national park, the luxury lodges in Greater Kruger and accommodation in Hoedspruit and surrounds. These three safari destinations are located in the north-eastern corner of South Africa in Mpumalanga Province.

Kruger National Park and Greater Kruger: what’s the difference?

Kruger Park is a state-supported national park, managed by South African National Parks (SANParks). Visitors have a wide choice of SANParks accommodation in rest camps, bushveld camps and tented camps.

There is also the choice of luxury safari lodges on private concessions in Kruger Park. These private concessions are restricted to paying guests and the luxury lodges offer an exclusive safari experience for high-end travelers.

Greater Kruger lies adjacent to Kruger National Park on its western boundary, and is made up of 18 unfenced private game reserves that are managed under the auspices of Associated Private Nature Reserves (APNR).

Kruger National Park shares an unfenced boundary with Greater Kruger and the private reserves within Greater Kruger have no fences. This means animals are free to roam between the two protected wilderness areas; an area that spans over 2 million hectares (20 000 square kilometers).

Visitors staying in Greater Kruger enjoy exclusive access to the private game reserve where they are staying and can book a day safari tour of Kruger National Park. Guests are taken on game drives in open safari vehicles with a dedicated ranger.

Please note

It’s about an hour’s drive to the closest Kruger Park entrance gate from many of the private game reserves in Greater Kruger. Rangers are not allowed to drive across the independent game reserves into Kruger Park, only animals are allowed to do that. Greater Kruger visitors have to enter via one of the main Kruger Park gates.

Nelspruit, White River, Hazyview and Hoedspruit

Our Kruger Park transfers pass through all or some of these towns, depending on where you’re staying. Nelspruit is the capital of Mbombela which is the administrative city of Mpumalanga Province.

White River and Hazyview are conveniently located to Kruger National Park and many visitors opt to stay in one of these towns and take day trips into Kruger Park. White River and Hazyview offer a wide selection of accommodation for safari holidays and fantastic restaurants, pubs and shops.

Hoedspruit is the “Capital of the safari hub” in north-eastern South Africa and the closest large town to the majority of private game reserves in Greater Kruger. The town has become a destination in its own right and many visitors opt to stay in Hoedspruit and take day safari tours in Kruger Park. Hoedspruit has a wide selection of accommodation, fantastic eateries, shops, banks and a very helpful tourism information centre.

Regulatory credentials for Kruger Park transfers

MoAfrika Tours adheres to strict regulations set by the Department of Tourism and guarantees its vehicles and drivers meet local and international standards of excellence.

In addition to the obvious, such as valid vehicle licenses and driver’s licenses, MoAfrika Tours has the following regulatory credentials:

  • SATSA-accredited company

The Southern Africa Tourism Services Association (SATSA) is the mark of quality tourism in southern Africa. MoAfrika Tours has been SATSA-accredited since it was founded in 2000.

  • NPTR-accredited company

The National Public Transport Regulator (NPTR) is a regulatory entity in South Africa. It was established in 2009 to monitor and oversee public transport in South Africa, receive and approve applications for inter-provincial operating licenses and the accreditation of tourist transport services.

  • Passenger liability cover

MoAfrika Tours is covered for passenger liability. It’s regarded as an absolute necessity for any tour operator transporting people in public vehicles in South Africa.

  • General public liability cover

General Public Liability Insurance (GPL) is essential cover and considered mandatory for tour operators. It protects a company against bodily injury or property damage claims by third parties (third parties include clients and the general public). These claims arise out of a business’s activities and operations.

  • Driver certificate of fitness

A certificate of fitness (COF) is issued to provide evidence that a driver of a light/private vehicle is fit to drive. This is a standard requirement of the Registrar of Motor Vehicles which has an obligation to ensure that all licensed drivers are medically fit and able to drive competently and safety.

  • Professional driving permit for all drivers

MoAfrika Tours ensures all its drivers have a professional driving permit (PrDP). This is required by law to drive public transport and heavy-duty vehicles, for example tour operator vehicles and shuttle buses. A PrDP is required in conjunction with a regular vehicle driver’s license.

Please note

It’s highly recommended that you take out comprehensive travel insurance for your holiday to South Africa. This should include medical cover in the rare instance you’ll need to be airlifted from an accident site or your accommodation in Kruger Park, and admitted to a private hospital in the city.
