The well-known malaria-free zone Pilanesberg National Park is home to Africa’s Big 5 game animals, and the Pilanesberg Tented Safari Camp is located within the park’s Manyane Resort.

The Pilanesberg National Park is one of the most interesting and accessible wildlife reserves in Southern Africa. This vast area, which is malaria-free and located in an ecologically rich transition zone between the Kalahari and the Lowveld, provides thrilling big-game viewing in an interesting setting. There is a wide range of lodging options available to meet your needs, including Pilanesberg Tented Camp.

This lodging option provides a true safari experience at a reasonable price, and you will be hosted by local safari guides during your stay, with regular visits from native impalas, warthogs, and banded mongooses.

With only five safari tents available, Pilanesberg Tented Safari Camp is a small and intimate camp. Each safari tent has plush bedding, electricity, camp chairs, carpeted flooring, and wide canvas windows with mosquito netting.

A spacious tented lounge area is available in addition to a dining room and an enticing fire pit. The safari tents and common areas are cleaned regularly, and each safari tent has a small deck that overlooks the fireplace. Each safari tent has two single beds, a fan to keep you cool in the hot summer months, and electric blankets to keep you warm on chilly winter nights.

During open safari vehicle game drives in the morning and afternoon, local safari experts share their extensive knowledge of the surrounding area, providing a true safari experience at an affordable price.

Accommodation

Accommodation to house guests at Pilanesberg Tented Safari Camp is provided in the form of only 5 safari tents. Each safari tent has comfortable single beds, plush linens, electricity, camp chairs, carpeted flooring, and large canvas windows with mosquito nets.

There is a large communal tented lounge, a dining area, and an inviting fire pit for evening relaxation.

Each safari tent has a small deck with a view of the campfire. The safari tents are equipped with two single beds, a fan to keep you cool on hot summer days, and electric blankets to keep you warm enough on cold winter nights.

Furthermore, both the convenient communal restrooms and the safari tents are serviced daily.

Facilities

Besides the safari tents, the firepit is the popular get-together place on the property.

There is also a tented lounge and a dining area, where guests can be found in the evenings reminiscing about the day’s adventures, whether they were spent viewing the game or participating in other activities.

In addition to the open safari vehicle game drives (both early morning and late afternoon game drives in open safari vehicles are included in your stay), guests can make use of the nearby Manyane resort spa, as well as its swimming pool, bar, restaurant, and shop for souvenirs to commemorate their game drive adventures.

In addition, there is a children’s playground, an outdoor chess set, a mini-golf course, a walk-in aviary that is well worth the visit, and a trampoline.

Activities

Guests may spend their time in the area participating in a variety of other activities in addition to game-watching, which usually is the primary reason for their visit to the area.

Safaris over the park in hot air balloons, elephant-back safaris with elephant interaction where kids get the chance to get up close and personal with the elephants, and special safaris tailor-made for photographic, walking, and bird watching are some of the activities that can be enjoyed in the region.

Guests can also pay a visit to Sun City and take advantage of all of the wonderful amenities that it has to offer during their stay in that location. Some of these amenities include the Valley of Waves, the renowned Gary Player Golf Course, and The Lost City Golf Course.

Private walking safaris can also be arranged in the undeveloped regions of Pilanesberg National Park through the company Nare Walking Safaris, which is a private operator located in the Black Rhino Reserve. These walking safaris take place in the Pilanesberg National Park itself.

Pilanesberg Private Lodge is the place to go to make reservations for these walking safaris. The nature walks typically last about two and a half hours and focuses on the less significant aspects of the area’s flora and fauna. When guests go on these hikes, they will have the opportunity to see any one of the Big 5 animals in the natural habitat in which they were born and raised.

Visitors should be on the lookout for a wide variety of animals as they make their way along the route, as well as animal footprints and other evidence that animals have left behind a cornucopia of different bird species, and a vast variety of plants and insects.

The fact that you can get up close and personal with all aspects of nature is what gives a walking safari its unique appeal. This is something that cannot be done on a traditional safari vehicle.

Over the past few years, walking safaris have gained a significant amount of popularity. During their safari excursions from the resort in recent months, guests have reported seeing leopards, lions, black and white rhinos, elephants, and both types of rhinos.

In addition to that, the following kinds of activities offered in the surrounding area are:

An aerial safari in a hot air balloon high above the park’s grounds. You should use the opportunity to take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime experience by making a reservation with the lodge upon arrival.

Elephant Back safaris – during such a safari guests can witness the communications between elephants and especially children will get the unique opportunity to engage in direct and personal interaction with the elephants.

Guests usually want to pay a visit to Sun City to take advantage of all the comforts and amenities that it has to offer, of which the Valley of Waves remains one of the most popular.

The more active visitors can take in some golf at the illustrious “Gary Player” course or The Lost City Golf course.

There are endless opportunities to enjoy yourself, either with personalized hiking, birding, and photo safaris or just lounging around and breathing in the fresh air.
