If you plan to fly out of OR Tambo International Airport on the last day of your travels, we suggest reserving a domestic flight that departs no earlier than 19h30 and an international flight that departs no earlier than 21h00.
Guests are picked up early in Johannesburg and driven to Pilanesberg Game Reserve. Arrive at Bakubung Bush Lodge mid-day after exploring the game reserve for a few hours. Have a light lunch and relax before it’s time to depart for a late-afternoon game drive in the reserve. Game drives are in an open safari vehicle with a professional ranger. Return to the lodge as the sun is setting and enjoy a starlit dinner around the firepit on warm evenings.

Set off early after hot beverages for a 3-hour sunrise game drive in the Pilanesberg Game Reserve in an open safari vehicle with a professional ranger. Return to the lodge for breakfast and keep yourself busy with everything there is to do at Bakubung. For an additional cost, you can join a guided bush walk or a game tracking activity, or visit the reserve’s wildlife centre or Predator’s World. Depart late afternoon for the game drive. Dinner around the boma on warm evenings.

Wake up early for hot beverages and then depart for a 3-hour sunrise game drive in the Pilanesberg Game Reserve. Depart mid-afternoon between 15:00 – 15:15 for the return journey to Johannesburg.
