Xaxaba Mobile Camp
Xaxaba Mobile Camp is located on a private island between Eagle Island and Chief’s Island in the heart of the Okavango Delta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Botswana. The mobile camp moves between 3 different locations on the island every few days. It’s operated by a private safari camp from the local Xaxaba community.
Guests stay in canvas safari tents with an ensuite bathroom, bucket shower and eco-bush toilet. This is a rustic camp for adventure travellers where the focus is on incredible scenery, outstanding wildlife and community spirit.
Activities of Xaxaba Mobile Camp include guided walks on Chiefs Island, mokoro excursions in traditional canoes and river boat trips. Fishing is optional; bring your own fishing gear. A visit to the Xaxaba community village is recommended.
Mboma Island Camp
Mboma Island Camp is located in a remote area on the tip of Moremi Game Reserve, a pristine protected wilderness area situated north of Maun and borders the Chobe National Park in the east. The private island is situated on the floodplains of the meeting point of Okavango Delta’s fresh waters and Moremi’s vast savanna plains.
Mboma Island Camp accommodates 8 people in four comfortable dome tents. Each tent has stretchers, bedding, bucket shower and an eco-bush toilet. It’s a rustic camp but comfortable.
Daily activities at Mboma Island Camp include canoe and river boat cruise. Various motorboat cruises operate from Mboma Boat Station. Fishing is optional; bring your own fishing gear.

Guests arrive in Botswana at Maun Airport and take a light air charter flight transfer to Eagle Island Airstrip (Xaxaba Airstrip). Guests can also connect from Kasane Airport to Eagle Island Airstrip. Xaxaba Island is only accessible via water transfer. From the local airstrip, it’s a 20-minute scenic boat ride to Xaxaba island.

Mboma Boat Station is located on the north-western end of Moremi Game Reserve and can be reached by road or by air in a light air charter. Alternatively, guests are transported to Mboma Boat Station by river boat and have an opportunity to explore the delta’s magical lagoons and channels enroute. The mobile camp is set up on Godikwe 1 Island.
