Wildlife Encounters runs this camp, which is a great place to see the famous “Big 5” and other African animals. You can also go on game drives in open safari vehicles in the morning and afternoon. You can get also closer to nature by doing walking safaris in the area with an armed ranger. Maseke Game Reserve is named after the Maseke people of Ba-Phalaborwa, who was granted possession of four properties in 2014.The land could only be given back to them if the farms were kept in their original state and made into protected zones. Today, Maseke is an important part of the Greater Kruger Park and plays a key role in protecting wildlife in Africa while offering exclusive safari options to visitors. The reserve is run by people with lots of experience in the safari business and have run several other concessions in the Greater Kruger.
The nDzuti Safari Camp was established on the shady slopes of a koppie, which is the term used for rocky outcrops in Africa. In the native Shangaan language, the word “nDzuti” can mean either “shadow” or “shade.”
The garden is not fenced in, but it has a small splash pool, hammocks, and a thatched area where you can sit even when it is very hot.
The main attraction of the camp is the sparkling swimming pool. It is situated on the terrace so that guests can watch animals come to the waterhole while lounging around the pool. A dining pavilion, a reed boma and a thatched bar finish off the conversation area.
At nDzuti, there are four two-room chalets and luxury tents for people to stay in.
In an indigenous garden, the four chalets are evenly spaced from each other. The chalets offer a cool and comfortable place to stay all year long.
They are big, and each one can fit four people, which makes them a great choice for families. Each chalet has a living room, a patio, and two bedrooms with bathrooms that have both a shower and a tub.
The four luxury tents with views of the waterhole are brand new. They give guests the chance to sleep under canvas, which is an unforgettable experience. Having en suite toilets, doors instead of zippers with flaps, and air conditioning added a touch of luxury.
The beds in the tents are comfortable, and the interiors are finished off with bedside tables, luggage racks, and mats. The small patio has a table and two “Morris chairs” that were made locally by hand. The bathroom is outside next to the tent and has a flush toilet, a sink, and a shower.
French doors lead to a central lounge with a tea and coffee station, wildlife prints, and doors that lead to the bedrooms on either side. Each cabin has its own path that leads to the main pavilion with the dining area and swimming pool.

Guests are collected from OR Tambo Airport Bus Terminal around 07:00 for the 5 to 6 hour drive to Balule in the Greater Kruger. You will arrive there in time to freshen up and enjoy a light lunch.
After lunch you can relax for a while until it is time to get ready for your first afternoon safari drive in an open vehicle. After watching the African sun set, you will return to the camp for dinner under the stars.
You will have to rise early each morning and only have time for coffee or tea and rusks, before an early morning safari in the open vehicle.
This is the best time to catch some predators on their way from the night’s hunt and experience the sun rising over the bushveld. Back at the camp, a scrumptious breakfast awaits, after which you can either catch up some sleep or go on a short walking safari. A light lunch is served around noon, after which you will have more time to relax – perhaps around the pool – before departing on a sunset drive in the open safari vehicle.
Your afternoon safari may produce more exciting sightings before you will return to the camp for a traditional starlit dining experience and time to reminisce about the day’s sighting and experience.
On your last morning, you will have to rise early again to depart in the open safari vehicle for the last game drive. Once again you will enjoy a lovely breakfast, after which you will only have time to gather your luggage for departure from the lodge.
