Lion and Safari Park - The Lion & Safari Park is located in the historic Cradle of Humankind, about a 30-45-minute drive from Johannesburg and makes for an ideal private tour. It is a protected conservation area with over 80 lions, including the famous white lions from the award-winning feature film "The White Lion." It also has cheetahs, hyenas, wild dogs, various antelope, and a tower of giraffe.
Soweto – this is the famous Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality township bordering the city's mining belt to the south. Its name is an abbreviation for South Western Townships. Soweto is home to more than 1.3 million people and established in Apartheid South Africa as the country’s oldest township, grew to be South Africa's largest black city, that hosted the FIFA Soccer World Cup final in 2010, attracting the attention of more than a billion soccer spectators from all over the world.
Apartheid Museum – at the museum in Johannesburg CBD, you can listen to a brief overview of the museum's exhibits and take your time exploring the museum.
Johannesburg City – the “City of Gold” offers exciting shopping and sightseeing, will ample dining opportunities too.
Sandton City – if shopping is high on your priority list, Sandton City is worth a visit.
Pretoria – the capital city offers several historic sites and national monuments that tell the story of South Africa's rich history. These include the stately Union Buildings, the Voortrekker Monument, the Paul Kruger House Museum, Church Square, Ou Raadsaal, the Palace of Justice, and the Capitol Theatre.
If you would love a private day safari, a visit to the Pilanesberg game reserve may be your choice. Note that this can’t be done in an open vehicle.
Sun city - The Sun City complex is near Rustenburg, a 2-hour drive north from Johannesburg and right on the edge of Pilanesberg National Park.
