Guests staying at Hoyo Hoyo Tsonga Lodge enjoy game drives in an open safari vehicle within the private concession as well as the Kruger Park itself.
Glorious days at Hoyo Hoyo Tsonga Lodge are spent exploring the vast wilderness region on sunrise and sunset game drives and enjoying hours of relaxation and pampering back at the lodge, as well as a magical “sofa safari” from the privacy of their own viewing deck.
Hoyo Hoyo Tsonga Lodge lies nestled in a lush riverine forest on the banks of the Mluwati River in the 10 000 hectare Mluwati Concession. The private concession is unfenced pristine wilderness located in the heart of the Kruger National Park, located on an ancient elephant route. The unique safari lodge exudes warmth and stylish charm with luxurious fittings and 5-star facilities, including an award-winning spa. Each earthy ensuite Beehive chalet is airconditioned and beautifully decorated in rich earthy tones.
A massive King-size bed, outdoor shower and an antique bath as well as a private viewing deck are just a few of the luxurious features of the Tsonga-style suites. The Shangaan-themed spa treatment facility is superb as well as the glorious outdoor entertainment area complete with a sparkling pool and open-air boma for starlit dinners.
The shuttle buses depart each day from OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg at 06:45am.
It’s a 5-6 hour drive from Johannesburg to Hoyo Hoyo Tsonga Lodge in the Kruger National Park; We take the scenic route through the historic towns of the Panorama Route and to the town of Hoedspruit with scheduled stops for bathroom breaks and leg stretches.
Arrive mid-day in the Mluwati Concession and into Hoyo Hoyo Tsonga Lodge. Enjoy a light meal and freshen up before departing late afternoon for a game drive on an open safari vehicle. Sundowners at a special vantage point.
A 3-course dinner under the stars at the outdoor boma at Hoyo Hoyo Safari Camp (weather dependent).
Included: Sundowner drinks and a 3-course dinner with local wines, beers and soft drinks
A perfect day of relaxation and pampering at Hoyo Hoyo Tsonga Lodge; sandwiched between an exciting early morning and late afternoon Big 5 safari tour of the Kruger National Park.
Tea and coffee before you depart for the sunrise game drive in an open safari vehicle; light informal Brunch back at Hoyo Hoyo Tsonga Lodge and an afternoon of relaxation before departing for the evening game drive; sundowners at a special vantage point and a delicious 3-course dinner under the stars in the outdoor boma.

Wake up early for hot beverages and breakfast pastries and then join your game ranger for your last game drive in Mluwati Concession. Enjoy a late breakfast on your return before checking out. We depart late-morning for the return journey to Johannesburg. Arrive at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg late afternoon (approx 17h00).

If you plan to fly out of OR Tambo International Airport on the last day of the safari tour, we suggest reserving a domestic flight that departs no earlier than 19h30 and an international flight that departs no earlier than 21h00.
