The Tuningi Safari Lodge is in the Madikwe Game Reserve. It is a 5-star establishment with a private and exclusive setting. Tuningi has a unique African Colonial style, and the interiors of its 6 exclusive villas blend with the vastness of the bush to create a real safari experience.
The Madikwe Game Reserve, which is 75,000 hectares, is one of the largest private game reserves in South Africa. It is also one of the few reserves in Southern Africa that does not have malaria. The reserve is in South Africa, 20 kilometres from Gabarone, near the border with Botswana.
It is in a transition zone between the lowveld bushveld and the Kalahari thornveld. Because of this, the area is home to a huge variety of animals and plants, including the black and white rhino, buffalo, elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, and wild dog. There are also 420 bird species and 105 tree species.
The lodge’s unique design gives guests deluxe rooms, whether they want to stay in a private setting with their families or go on an exciting trip with a group of friends.
The main lodge has a nice living room, dining room, and bar. The infinity pool has a great view of the watering hole, where you can watch animals coming and going. On the way back from the pool, there is a long wooden deck that leads to the boma area.
Tuningi Safari Lodge is not only a beautiful and luxurious place where you can have amazing safari experiences, but it is also a friendly place where you can relax and feel like a member of the family. The staff is very professional and eager to please. They will go out of their way to make sure you have a great safari experience that will leave you with great memories.
Accommodation
Only 16 people can stay at Tuningi Safari Lodge at any given time because of the limited rooms. This adds to the Lodge’s feeling of exclusivity. There are four Luxury Suites and two Family Suites for guests to stay in.
From the private wrap-around decks, guests can see beautiful views of the bush. Tuningi was built so that it is perfect for families, small groups, or VIPs who want to be alone.
Luxury Suites – Each beautiful, large Suite has a comfortable lounge area and its own gas fireplace, which you can turn on when you get back from your evening game drive or go to bed at night. During the hot summer months, air conditioning and ceiling fans can help you stay cool.
At Tuningi Safari Lodge, the large bathrooms are a real treat. There is a fireplace, a large bath with great views, and a private alfresco (outside) rock shower.
Each suite has a private wooden deck that goes all the way around. This is a great place to relax and take in the sights and sounds of the bush.
Family Suites – Tuningi has not forgotten what families need, but they have not given up on luxury either. With its two large Family Suites, the lodge was carefully made to suit children over the age of 6.
Not only are these Family Suites great for families who want more space, but they also have all the same amenities and finishes as the Luxury Suites. They have two double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, a dining area, a kitchenette, and a living room with a large wooden deck where you can enjoy the beauty of the area.
Facilities
This luxury Madikwe lodge has room for 16 people in its four large Luxury Suites and two Family Suites. All of these suites have private wrap-around decks with stunning views. The thatched lodge has a large living room and a cosy dining room, as well as a well-stocked bar and an impressive rim flow pool that looks out over a busy watering hole. All of these areas are connected by a long wooden deck that goes down to the beautiful boma area and viewing deck.
These spaces are connected by a long wooden pool deck and walkway that leads to a boma under an old, sprawling Fig Tree, which is where the name Tuningi comes from. This boma deck is perfect for dinners outside around a blazing log fire, where you can see and hear animals just a few feet away.
Photographers who go on safari will love the underground hide that looks out over the busy waterhole. In the hide, people can sip a G&T and feel like they are on the same level as the wildlife. This hide is great, especially when elephants walk right by the windows and show how big they are from a different angle. With a wide-angle lens, you can get great photos of animals like giraffes, zebras, buffalo, kudus, and impalas drinking from the waterhole.
Activities
In the 75,000-acre Big 5 Safari Reserve, you can see animals like the lion, elephant, buffalo, white and black rhino, leopard, and the rare and endangered wild dog. The game rangers at Tuningi Safari Lodge are highly trained and know a lot about the animals and plants in the Madikwe Game Reserve.
. Explore Africa’s wildlife in an open, top-of-the-line Land Cruiser with a roof during the summer months to protect you from the sun. Each day brings something new. Whether it is a leopard on the hunt, lions roaring at dusk, dung beetles doing their thing, or birds building a nest, all of these things can be amazing to see.
When you get back to the camp after an exciting day in the bush, you will be greeted by a sea of lights made up of candles and lanterns. The famous chef at the lodge will serve you a delicious dinner.
At Tuningi, it is fun to stay active while in the bush. The local gym blends in with the surrounding bush, so guests can watch animals as they work up a sweat. A treadmill, a spinning bike, and a cable cross weight trainer are all in the gym.
In the main lounge, guests who find it hard to stay away from technology can use the satellite TV and Wi-Fi to stay in touch with the “outside world.”
The best way for guests to get some peace and quiet is to pick up a book from the library and read in the lounge or on one of the outside decks, which is often made more interesting by the sight of wildlife passing by.
Tuningi is great for families in every way, and there are a lot of things for kids to do to keep them busy. Tuningi has started kids’ programmes to help with family vacations. These programmes include a number of “firsts” in bush activities. Also, babysitting services are available for an extra fee for kids who are too young to go on safari or for kids who are tired and need to sleep while their parents eat dinner.
