From the southernmost tip of Africa to the wild, untamed forests of the Tsitsikamma National Park, this tour is ideal for travelers on a tight schedule who don’t want to miss the chance to see the natural wonders of the idyllic east coast of South Africa.
Guests are collected in Cape Town early morning (6am) and driven to Oudtshoorn, the ostrich capital of the world in the Little Karoo. The scenic drive follows the world-famous Route 62 which is also known as the ‘longest wine route in the world’. Stop for lunch along the way.
The afternoon in Oudtshoorn is spent exploring the magical Cango Caves which is an intricate cave system located in Precambrian limestones at the foothills of the Swartberg mountains. This is followed by a visit to a working ostrich farm.
Overnight at accommodation in Oudtshoorn. Enjoy an authentic Karoo meal at the lodge restaurant.

Wake up early for breakfast. Depart for the Wilderness area, travelling over the historic Swartberg Mountain Pass and stopping at the scenic ‘Map of Africa’ lookout point. It’s a viewpoint that gives you a bird’s-eye perspective of the Kaaimans River which makes an unmistakable outline of the African continent as it winds through the lush forest valley.
Arrive in Knysna mid-day. The afternoon is spent visiting the Knysna Heads and the famous Knysna Waterfront and Knysna Quays. Mid-afternoon depart for Plettenberg Bay, stopping at Bloukrans Bridge Bungy. It’s one of the world’s highest commercial bridge bungy jump at 216 metres (709 ft) above the Bloukrans River.
For an extra fee, you can bungee jump off the Bloukrans Bridge. Bookings are essential so plan ahead.
Overnight at accommodation in Storms River which is the ‘Adventure capital of the Garden Route. Dinner served at the lodge restaurant.

Today we head through to Tsitsikamma National Park for a hike to the ever-famous Storms River mouth- walk on the recently finished Hanging Bridge, where we can take a dip in the Indian Ocean!! From here we head to the Garden Route Game Lodge where we can enjoy a Big 5 sunset game drive followed by a fantastic buffet dinner. We’ll also overnight in their award-winning chalets.

Early morning Game drive to see some animals you perhaps didn’t see the evening before followed by a scrumptious breakfast! After check out, we make our way to Hermanus, which is famous for being the best land-based whale watching site (in season) in the world and is a beautiful little town with wonderful Cliffside walks. Making our way back towards Cape Town, our last stop is at Stony Point where we visit the local penguin Colony – making our way back with spectacular views over False Bay.
